BLUES NIGHT: GUY DAVIS with WARNER WILLIAMS and JAY SUMMEROUR
Creative Alliance
3134 Eastern Ave
Baltimore, MD 21224
A guitarist, singer, actor and writer, Guy Davis- Bluesman travels the world keeping acoustic blues alive. Opening is A Little Bit A Blues with Warner Williams, one of the last true blues songsters.
Whether Guy Davis is appearing on Conan OBrien or nationally syndicated radio programs such as Garrison Keillors A Prairie Home Companion, Mountain Stage, or David Dyes, World Café, in front of 15,000 people at a major festival, or teaching an intimate gathering of students at a music camp, Guy feels the instinctive desire to give each listener his all. His all is the blues in its many forms and incarnations. Born in Maryland in 1930, Piedmont-style singer and guitarist Warner Williams is often referred to as a "songster" for the breadth of styles, sources, and songs he is able to perform, but he prefers the term "Guitar Man." He is joined by Jay Summerour on harmonica and Eric Selby on percussion for their Little Bit A Blues project.
